I borrowed this photo from fellow Township Supervisor Kim McGrath. This hangs on the wall of their shop, McGrath Automotive. Who wants to guess where this photo was taken? Obviously the structure is a clue, but to the very far right is another one. I’ll take a modern photo later today.

Todd Bainbridge got this right. This is currently Kelsey O'Shay's Pub & Grille on Route 724 in "Douglassville". A rare view of a Schuylkill Canal Bridge is on the right side of the photo.

I could give all kinds of details about the car just not where the picture was taken.

The corner of Pennsylvania ave and main st.

the house on McGrath Property

Bridge over canal on right in background of original pic??

2nd house In from corner of gieger rd on Weavertown rd

is it amity es off to the right

Near Daniel Boone homestead

I recently stumbled across a 1946 photo of Smilin' Jack Airport that shows planes parked there. I can count at least 3. This would have been towards the end of the airports existence. If you live in this portion of Westridge, you live on the old airport. More specifically, W. Welsh & Penns appears to be right where the hangar and planes were parked. #douglassville ... How! How much change has occurred in my life so far!

Having lived on the former runway it was very hilly and wet ground for an airport.

That's (the red circle) JUST south of our house (we're on Old Airport).

The Douglassville Covered Bridge existed from 1832 to 1952. In 1951 construction of the new concrete bridge began. As you can see, not without some controversy. #douglassville ... See MoreSee Less
